Dr Greg Finak
Senior Staff Scientist & Vaccine Immunology Statistical Centre
Methods Development Lead
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre
[Host: Prof Thomas Scriba IDM/SATVI]
Dr Finak has been pioneering open source tools and statistical methods for computational cytometry for over ten years. He leads the statistical methods development group for the Vaccine and Immunology Statistical Centre and the Vaccine Statistical Support Unit at the Fred Hutch, and he is the PI leading an NIH funded effort to support open source computational infrastructure for big cytometry data. Dr Finak earned his PhD in 2008 from McGill University. In 2015 he was named a Marylou Ingram Scholar by the International Society for the Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC) which serves as a multidisciplinary scientific society leading technical innovation and scholarship in the quantitative cell sciences.
